Chinese players dominate tomorrows Finals

Read who made it to the last day of DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR.

In two of this year’s five Finals, the finalists are all Chinese. China is also represented in the Women’s doubles and Men’s singles tomorrow.

An Indonesian match waits in the Men’s doubles. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamukjo and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will compete for the title.

Here are the results from the semifinals:

  • Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (2.) – Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik (4.): 21-17,  13-21, 21-17
  • Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi – Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto: 16-21, 20-22

The Finals will begin Sunday at 12 PM.

World Champions defeated in the quarterfinals

Viktor Axelsen wont have the chance to win DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR two years in a row. The Danish World Champion in Men’s singles was defeated in the quarterfinals. Also World Champion in Women’s singles Akane Yamaguchi leaves the tournament.

 

None of last years winners of DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR will retreive the title.

Loh Kean Yew defeats Viktor Axelsen in Men’s singles, while He Bing Jiao in Women’s singles is getting through to the semi finals with a win against Akane Yamaguchi. 

 In mixed doubles last years winners from Japan, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino, were beaten by unseeded Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie from Malaysia.
