The draw for DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR is a dramatic one for the Danish players. Every Danish player/double must face a world-class player/double in the first round. Get an overview of the draw right here.

This year’s DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR could be a critical one for the Danish superstars. The draw has not been kind to the Danish players and they will all have to perform at their top level to move on to the second round on home soil.

Anders Antonsen is the hottest Danish name right now and he is up against the winner from 2017 Kidambi Srikanth. A Danish clash in the quarter finals is possible if Anders Antonsen and Viktor Axelsen win their first and second round matches. And that will not be easy.

Homeboy Viktor Axelsen will face Kenta Nishimoto who is now ranked 12 on the world ranking. Not an easy match for Viktor Axelsen.

The world’s second-oldest international badminton tournament also offers some sweets in the women’s singles. See it through Danish spectacles Mia Blichfeldt and Line Kjærsfeldt could make some great victories if they are able to win against Ratchanok Intanon and Beiwen Zhang.

Of course, DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR is a Super 750 tournament so no easy matches. But for Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen the draw is though. On the other side of the net Japanese World Championships silver-medallists Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota are waiting in the first round.

19-year-old Amalie Magelund/Freja Ravn did it greatly at the World Championships and they must make an even better performance on home soil. They are facing the world champions from 2017 Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan.

For the first time, Mathias Boe/Mads Conrad are playing together on Danish ground. The new men’s doubles pair with a lot of routine are up against talented Han/Zhou from China. The two pairs met at China Open last week and the Danes came out strong.

This is just some of the matches in the first round of DANISA DENMARK OPEN 2019 presented by VICTOR. Players like Kento Momota, Carolina Marin, Lin Dan, Kevin Sukamuljo/Marcus Gideon, Tai Tzu-ying and Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong will also be on court in the first round.
