Plenty of stars gets through first round

Viktor Axelsen, Anders Antonsen and Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup are some of the players, who will play their first game at this year’s DENMARK OPEN 2022 presented by VICTOR.

Across categories a lot of the best seeded players accomplished getting through the first round on day 2.

That includes big names such as Viktor Axelsen, Marcus Gideon/Kevin Sukamuljo, Chen Yufei and Shida/Matsuyama.

Unfortunately one of the most anticipated matches on Day 2 of the DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR was cancelled. Anders Antonsen sadly had to withdraw because of an injury.

The first day of DENMARK OPE presented by VICTOR is finished, and now we can look back on some of the biggest results.

 

 Lasse Mølhede and Jeppe Bay captured one of the most surprising wins of the day. The Danish men’s doubles pair defeated World number one, Hoki and Kobayashi, 21-15, 21-14.

Besides that game a lot of the favorites got off to a good start in Jyske Bank Arena in Odense. Let’s look how the first part of the first round ended.

A lot of former and reigning World Champions will enter the courts on Tuesday, when the first part of the first round at the DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR will be played.

That includes Loh Kean Yew, Takuro Hoki/ Yugo Kobayashi, Akane Yamaguchi, Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan and Carolina Marin just to name a few of them.

Unfortunately, second seed Kento Momota has withdrawn from the Super 750 tournament.

There are plenty of opportunities to try the many activities between the exciting matches and you might even meet some of the players who are occasionally signing autographs.
